Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered...

Is your produce organic?

Our market garden operates on organic and regenerative agriculture principles. This means we don’t use harmful chemical sprays or pesticides, or artificial fertilisers.

We use a no dig system which means we don’t plough or invert the soil which is beneficial to soil life and in turn the fruit and veg we produce and eat.

We are not yet certified organic.

Wherever possible we source what we supply from other growers from other certified organic and / or regenerative farms and gardens.

Where is your fruit and veg grown?

Much of the produce in your weekly boxes come from our own ¾ acre no dig market garden just outside of Hayle.

We also source great fruit and veg from other trusted local growers in Cornwall & Devon and, slightly less frequently, from further afield.

When you choose your box the origin of each product is displayed clearly.

We strive to provide fresh, local and seasonal produce, reflected in the taste and quality of the fruit and veg in your box each week!

How do you grow your veg?

Our market garden is based on ‘no dig’ principles. This means we do not plough or invert the soil and that we mulch using compost.

We are continuing to develop our ‘in house’ composting system as part of our principles to be as self sufficient as possible.

‘No dig’ supports us in growing nutritious fruits and vegetables without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilisers, herbicides or fungicides.

Rather than use any of the above nasties we use natural and organic methods of pest prevention. For example, we use fleece, mesh and netting to prevent damage from unwanted ‘pests’.

We also utilise companion planting which can help by attracting beneficial pollinators and insects.

Is your produce 'ready to eat' or 'wash before use'??

The fresh produce in your box comes straight from the farm, therefore please wash before use.

How do I know what's in my next delivery?

Box contents are updated weekly and will be available to view when you place your order.

Please be aware that contents are subject to change, dependent on availability and on occasion certain items could be swapped out for other products.

What packaging do you use?

Your produce will be delivered in a reusable cardboard box. If this is well looked after we can use it multiple times before it needs to be recycled. Please leave it out for us on your next delivery day.

We use minimal packaging, much of our produce is unpackaged and goes directly into your box. Some items require some form of packaging – such as biodegradable bag for our salad mix or recycled plastic for our microgreens.

We are continually reviewing ways we can minimise the our impact on the environment and using the most sustainable methods possible.
